THE TEA PARTY IS DEADbwog.com

thedailybeast.com — But after months of wondering how the Tea Party would change the primary game, leaders inside the movement admit they never came in off the sidelines. For the Tea Party movement, the 2012 presidential primaries have been a bust.

“The Tea Party movement is dead. It’s gone,” says Chris Littleton, the cofounder of the Ohio Liberty Council, a statewide coalition of Tea Party groups in Ohio. “I think largely the Tea Party is irrelevant in the primaries. They aren’t passionate about any of the candidates, and if they are passionate, they’re for Ron Paul.”

Littleton is one of the many who have endorsed the Texas congressman; he blames the other GOP candidates for the lackluster energy they have generated in the grassroots that hosted a revolution two years ago.

“Not Romney” is the most popular candidate among his fellow activists, Littleton says, though no one can agree who “Not Romney” is. Without an agreement on that score, the real Romney has coasted to easy victories in New Hampshire, Florida, and Nevada, even winning a clean 50 percent of the Tea Party vote in Nevada on Saturday night while the other 50 percent split themselves among Paul, Newt Gingrich, and Rick Santorum.

Somewhat, they will still have some effect in local elections.

I think on a local level there may be serious fall out. The Tea Party was founded on taxes being too high - when facts like taxes are the lowest they have been in over 50 years started to trickle into their collective common sense I believe they lost many supporters. As the party establishment started lying to them the more moderate and thinking republicans have come to realize the world has not ended under Obama. Yet, at the local level they are finding that the politicians running on the Tea Party banner don't have any solutions. Busting union rights, when they have family that are in unions, is not way to maintain your support base.

@lightdude -- how about trying to read the post first before you say ignorant things. The leaders themselves are saying that their Tea Party is dead. These are the knuckle heads in charge saying we are no longer relevant.

@hank10303 I suggest reading your own post and question or can you read at all?

No, that's your liberal media claiming the Tea Party is dead. Can't let facts get in the way of the spin.

Nice try,

So now Chris Littleton is a liberal, I'm sure he'd be surprised to know that!

Since there is no such thing as a Tea Party organization, Liberals have been using the name to try to control some of its activities. But unlike Liberal Lemmings, Tea Partiers don’t need an organization to keep us going.

We actually know how to articulate the only issues necessary to be a Tea Partier.: small constitutionally-based government, no deficit spending, paying off the debt, low taxes and the elimination of the Nanny State. Oh yeah, and vote, vote, vote.

In this presidential election it doesn’t matter much which Republican wins the nomination; Obama must go. More important than the president are the Congressional Elections. We will maintain control of the House and at the same time make sure a Republican is the Majority Leader in the Senate.

No Republican President will veto bills from that Congress. And if Obama should win, he’ll be signing them as well!

You wish. I happen to be very attractive and I don't post my face pic because people always hit on me. So your slander is comical to me. Try again.
